No on AB 1634 State Capitol Rally

from Ask Chewie: The Pug Life

Chewie asks you rally to defeat AB 1634

The rights of pet owners across California will face a crucial test in just two weeks.

On Monday, July 9th, California State Senators will vote on AB 1634 in the Business, Professions and Economic Development Committee hearing which starts at 1:30 pm. The measure will make it illegal for most Californians to own a dog or cat over 4 months old that has not been spayed or neutered.

At 10:00 am, PetPAC will hold a “No on AB 1634” Rally to demonstrate that our opposition to AB 1634 is widespread, strong and united.

We need your help! We encourage you, your family, friends and pets to attend.

“NO on AB 1634” Capitol Rally
Monday, July 9, 2007
10:00 am
State Capitol
West Steps (10th & L Streets)
Sacramento, CA

Please RSVP to PetPAC if you can attend.

Thank you for your efforts to defeat AB 1634.

Pug Hearts of Houston

from Ask Chewie: The Pug Life

Chewie’s friends in houston

imageAfter mah brit friends relocated to Houston, their life was touched by Alfie who inspired Pug Hearts of Houston. This organization rescues pugs, most of who are in desperate need of TLC, and nurses them back to health. Then these pugs are sent to forever homes if they make it through their ordeal. Many pug rescues hold on to deeply sick or abused pugs to use as a fundraising tool. They never let anyone (even those who have the tie and resources to properly care for the pug) adopt the pug, and they continue to collect donations in that pug’s name for years to comes.  Pug Hearts is not like this. They set goals for each pug and are honest on every treatment given to him. It is refreshing to see a pug rescue that actually cares about the pugs, and is truly non-profit! The fee is $200 to adopt a pug, not the ridiculous $600-$900 that some rescues charge!!!!!! Please support pug hearts as much as you can, and consider adopting one of their special need pugs.

Support PetPAC!

from Ask Chewie: The Pug Life

PetPAC is working to defeat AB 1634! Help Chewie fundraise….

PetPAC is currently working to defeat AB 1634, which provides no logical way to control pet overpopulation. It is generally agreed that neutering an animal at 4 months old is just too young. This bill not only requires that all animals be sterilized, it will basically shut down responsible dog breeders. Meanwhile, puppy mills will keep churning out puppies with no problem. Please donate to PetPAC today to help stop this bill!

Free Pug Scam

from Ask Chewie: The Pug Life

Email from Rita Newman for free pugs is a scam.

Hiya! I got dis letter twice today in my email. It’s a scam!

Hello,

We are retired couples with a beautiful female pug to live out our
lives with and our female pug got with our neighbours pug dog by accident.

She now has 7 pug puppies about 12 weeks old, we are giving them out
to a rescue group or individual who can take them and give them a
permamnet loving homes.

We are not breeders and so we would not sell out the puppies, we are
giving it out for them to have a good home just like their mother.

If you are interested in having them, i want you to get back to me with
your full name and address .

Please if you know that you are not going to take very good care of my
babies do not reply me because i am
only giving them out because we cannot take care of them.

Pictures are available on demand.

Await your response,

Have a great Day.

Mrs.Rita Newman

It is a scam! The “woman” lives in Singapore and is looking for you to turn over money to ship the pug to you. They may also try to convince you to hand over bank account or credit card information for shipping! You will of course not get a free pug! You will be out cash or a victim of identity theft. This email came from two different email addresses (both on inmail24.com).....Don’t send any info, not even your name!

Be careful out there!
